You can help clients who come to you concerned about the recent uptick in title fraud and homeowner impersonations.

If they did not get title insurance when they acquired their property you can bring them peace of mind with a TitlePLUS Existing Owner policy.

In addition to fraud coverage, there is coverage for forgery and future encroachments onto the property. If the homeowner does become a victim of fraud, the legal costs associated with defending title to the property are also covered under the policy.

The policy amount is based on either a recent tax assessment or written opinion from a real estate agent or appraiser. Coverage will increase with the value of the property up to a maximum of 200%.

Log on to mytitleplus.ca to order a policy now to help clients who may not yet be covered.

Not a TitlePLUS subscriber? It’s easy, just use your LAWPRO credentials to register at mytitleplus.ca.
